Fundamentals of Sitting Arrangement

To solve any arrangement puzzle with speed and accuracy, apply these core rules:

1. Linear Arrangements (Facing North):

   • Left is to your left (towards the western end).

   • Right is to your right (towards the eastern end).

2. Circular / Closed Loops (Facing Center):

   • Left turn corresponds to a Clockwise (CW) movement.

   • Right turn corresponds to an Anticlockwise (ACW) movement.

   • Opposite seats in an even-numbered group ($N$) are separated by exactly $\frac{N}{2}$ positions.

3. Circular / Closed Loops (Facing Outwards):

   • Left turn corresponds to an Anticlockwise (ACW) movement.

   • Right turn corresponds to a Clockwise (CW) movement.

Question 1

Ram, Rahim, Hakim, Ravi and Ramesh are sitting on a bench, in which Ram is sitting equal to Rahim and Hakim is equal to Ravi but Ravi is not sitting next to Ramesh, because Ramesh is sitting on the left edge of the bench opposite to Hakim.
